Book Blog Tour Progress Report

I'm about half way through the virtual events listed below, and it's been fun so far ranging all over the map with topics from writing to food. Heidi M. Thomas's blog had a guest immediately following me who had written about Tennessee Walking Horses and I couldn't help commenting on that. Nothing to do with my book, or my life now, but a fond memory. June 1 I’ll kick off the month of June with a visit to Marian Allen’s blog where I understand we can talk about “This, that and a whole lot of the other” (sounds like fun) at Marian Allen This also happens to fall on "Foodie Tuesday" which can't be bad!

June 23 and it's time to visit Dana Fredsti, self-described as, “mystery novel, short story and screenplay writer, B-movie actress (okay, C movie actress), zombie aficionado, exotic and domestic feline advocate, swordfighter, wine lover and beach glass junkie.” Sounds like fun. Not that anyone's counting, but I think she has more cats than I do and not everyone can say that! My formerly feral felines approve of her cat work (did that sound wrong?)

June 28 I’ll visit Stacy Juba’s blog Stacy Juba, she’s a former journalist with more than a dozen writing awards to her credit and her theme (coincidentally the title of her mystery novels) Twenty-Five Years Ago Today. Fortunately I’ve got my 1985 calendar with notes!

Let's get this Bride on the road....

As I begin to count the weeks and days until the June publication of Bride of the Living Dead I've been communicating with bloggers who may review the book or host me on the Blog Book Tour. Heidi M. Thomas, author of Cowgirl Dreams and the Heidiwriter blog in the Blog List on the right suggested starting a blog just for the book.

Wait a minute, I already did that. This very blog I'm posting to. So I decided to try to come over here more often and post the latest news on the book as it happens.

I don't know why I didn't think of this, but thanks, Heidi.

Starting out with Bride blogging

My usual way of doing things involves false starts, mistakes and uses of the words "eek!" and "oops!" Aren't you glad I didn't go into medicine? Bride of the Living Dead will be in print in June 2010 and I've been blogging about the preparations on Live Journal. Is this blog necessary? Is it and oops or an eek?

I'm still figuring that out. Now that I finally posted the June '09 post, how about the Jan. 10 post? Seriously I know my way around a fictional plot with waaay more assurance than I do a blog.

Seriously.

Coming Soon in Paperback, Bride of the Living Dead

--Um, I never posted this. Did I mention not always knowing what I'm doing?
What the heck. Why not share how ecstatic I was when we signed the contract?

IT'S OFFICIAL! Pearlsong Press will publish a trade paperback edition of my new romantic comic novel, Bride of the Living Dead! Yes, I know I'm repeating the headline, I just can't stop saying it! I've got a new book coming...Yay!

The heroine is Indie film critic, Daria MacClellan. Big, beautiful and rebellious, Daria, who is most comfortable in a horror movie poster T-shirt and blue jeans, finds that her wedding is hijacked by family drama. How did she sign on for a formal wedding planned by Sky, her perfectionist, anorexic, older sister? Daria adores her fiancé and she loves horror films, but her wedding seems to be turning into one. Will a picture perfect pink wedding turn her into the Bride of the Living Dead?
